About This Project

TITLE
Second Self, 2011

ARTIST
Meryl McMaster

LOCATION
Indoor Lobby, 85 Hanna Avenue, Toronto, ON

DESCRIPTION
Second Self reconsiders the nature of identity through portraiture.  By representing the complexities of identity, the white face and wire sculptures act like masks or personas to conceal and change the subject true identity.  While persona has come to define the individual for the public while concealing the real person, the masks then, become second self.  The subjects in these photographs hail from the GTA.

Selection process and project management with First Capital Realty.
